"Sony Offers Help To Valve So Their Games Can Be Successful On PS3"
So is that true or sourced or anything? I never know with HHG.
I'm pretty sure they didn't mean they're putting the toolset itself on consoles. Seems a little unrealistic trying to run GECK or Bioware's thing on PS3/360.
There's a yet-to-be-approved article about the Sky player:

@foliage: It's not spin at all and it's not stealing any limelight.
The guy was not saying Halo was the first *game* to incorporate that particular feature. He was talking about FPS in general which was prefaced by the remark about Bungie bringing FPS to consoles from PC using those attractive gameplay features to support that claim. And Halo deserves every bit of credit for doing that. If you still want to disagree, wait a few days for the transcript and I'll PM a real quote and...
It's a nice interface, Last.fm especially.
I have to ask the million dollar question:
Can you access any of these in-game?
Dragon Age on PC seems like really a big experience. The core game will be essentially the same, I'm sure. The expandability will be a horse of a different color. The color awesome.
Besides mods, you can link your game to Bioware's new social network and I think the Dragon Age: Journeys browser game to get bonus in-game items. They're probably doing it to curb piracy, but the this is GOOD piracy curbing imo.
I'm quite happy Bioware paid some extra attention to PC g...
That's awesome.
So can other devs possibly do this for PC?
No?
...Fine. :/
@cmbre: The way you've been dogging ME in the rumor threads lately, I would NOT have expected to read "90%". This is the game you describe as "overrated"? :s
VC is a good game as well, but different strokes for different folks. Calm down... People have their own tastes.
Makes sense in theory, but not in practice.
Mainly because devs don't often lead with PC anymore so arguments of "dumbing down" some fabled PC version for consoles goes right out the window.
I *wish* more devs took advantage of what PCs can do, but the truth is the games aren't really made with PC gamers in mind. Oblivion, having been built for PC first, is a sterling suberversion of the unspoken rule.
As far as the PC price thing goes, it was...
edit: Bah, responded to your double post.
edit2: Np, moved up as well and bubs in return
First, this is what the guy saw personally that affected him as a game developer. No one seems to understand that he's not trying to create a definitive list of innovative titles.
Second, innovation isn't just a game of who came first with a concept or else the motor vehicle or electric appliances wouldn't be called 'inventions'. Steel would just be a rip-off of iron. TV isn't new, it's called a play! They just put it in a box. /s
On to Samus. She was female. But she...
I really want to comment smartly, but I've never played this game. Image Googling however brings up a lot of sexy mods which makes me wish I had.
I love the artist who is the well-known enigma, alien1452.
It's a GREAT deal, but yeah the game was showing it's age only a year after its debut. I always thought they did a much better job with content than WoW as far as frequency and pricing, but other parts of dealing with POL and the game itself were incredibly frustrating. Hope FFXIV manages to establish a meaningful customer service front in the West this time.
Seriously?
This game was "hailed" for the same good/evil dichotomy you find in most games today? While I readily admit there were many great things about the game, choice was not a defining feature at all imo. It was the story's seeming refusal to allow you freedom that really defined the best parts.
But that makes it twice as pleasing to hear the second game will address choice much better.
Haven't played two of the biggest RPGs this gen? Well, I can sympathize somewhat.
Ironically, I love RPGs so I try to play many. Unfortunately I pass up some popular games simply because I don't like the genre as much. I did this with Halo CE, Halo 3, original Half-Life, God of War, DMC 3, GeoW 2, Killzone 2, etc. So you might guess I'm not really enamored with shooters primarily. But I usually get around to playing them some months later as I did with most of these.
...
Dunno what it has to do with gaming or the industry (besides Billy being the former MS boy), but cool news nonetheless.
And I kinda hope it doesn't get approved because you just know people will find ways to savage this into bad news since it's MS related in the barest of ways.
I don't think screwy ports have anything to do with blu-ray, but everything to do with the cell. Or rather the lack of expertise in programming for it.
It's stupid to throw out blu-ray now. You'd only be able to watch movies. No way does MS include it standard and start forcing devs to support it at this point. It seems like an unnecessary set of costs.
Standard hdd? I can't argue with that. It's rather stupid that they haven't yet when you consider how much they're pushing digital download.
Brutal, but solid point.
@scissor: FPS hasn't been the sole property of PCs for a long time now.
And again that dichotomy. Is PC gaming a $10000 a year habit or do "most" have a gaming PC now that <insert game> isn't coming to <insert console>?
The Wii is a next gen console. These games are 9-10 years old. From which *should* we expect contemporary visuals exactly?
As for immersion, if you need pretty explosions instead some of the very *best* writing in RPGs, stick with Halo and Killzone.
